Quaker Studies Fund

This independent fund, managed by HMAC, is intended for Quaker education at a Quaker institution, including Pendle Hill. A Quaker event or conference (e.g. Friends General Conference gathering) may also be considered. Awards from this fund do not exceed $1,000.  For more information, contact Brent Bowyer the HMAC Grants & Loans Officer

What would you look for in a Quaker study experience?  “The key “take away” for me was the similarity between the ministry of George Fox and the meditation instruction of Soto Zen….we have to …humbly let the Light do its work in its own time to cleanse and transform us. Activism must spring from wisdom. We care for the world by first caring for ourselves… As a result of this retreat I have become a spiritually deeper person, and I feel more grounded in my Quaker practice.”
Philippa Hajdu, after a participation  in a Pendle Hill workshop: “Be Still in the Light: An Exploration of What Zen Buddhism Can Bring to Quaker Practice.”
