Quaker Book Service Committee is a committee of Ottawa Monthly Meeting serving Canadian Friends. An annual report is submitted to Publications and Communications Committee and the report is included in the Minutes of Canadian Yearly Meeting.

We are volunteers, donating up to 40 hours a week to serve Friends in this way.  Over the past 32 years we have tried to meet Friends' needs in appropriate ways, but we cannot respond to phone calls.  Books can be purchased most Sundays after Meeting for Worship in Ottawa.

Quaker Book Service does not have the resources of a commercial bookseller, so in general we are unable to make special orders for books not in our regular stock.

Book lists are included in The Canadian Friend, with a few sent to Meetings and also to individuals on request.  The Book List is also available here on the CYM website.

As new books are stocked, they are listed in The Canadian Friend and on the website throughout the year. Books are paperback unless otherwise specified, and prices are in Canadian dollars. These prices are for our present stock and may fluctuate when we have to reorder.

Our aim is to make books of specific interest to Quakers more readily available to Canadian Friends.  Please let us have your comments and suggestions.
